Snow foams are fantastic to use as a pre-wash because they clean contactlessly. With a rich, thick lather, snow foam has far longer to act on the bodywork than traditional shampoos (note that a specialist snow foam lance will be required for best results, but some standard foam guns may prove adequate). However, standard pH-neutral snow foams simply cannot clean as well as more aggressive products - hence the introduction of iFoam Max.
iFoam Max is NOT pH-neutral; it's an aggressive caustic snow foam that ups cleaning performance to, well, the max. Even the most popular foam on detailing forums can't compete with its sheer effectiveness - and no, that forum foam isn't pH-neutral either despite the fact that most people think it is!
So whilst this foam isn't your choice if you want to preserve previously-applied wax or sealant layers, it does help to loosen, soften and remove dirt BEFORE the main wash. This is another step towards eradicating swirl marks from your detailing regime, as there will be less dirt on the panel when you make contact with a mitt or wash sponge. You can see the dirt removed by checking the thick, white lather turn brown as it pulls dirt from the vehicle.
If you want even more cleaning performance, you simply won't find it in ANY snow foam. You will need to step up to Crudzilla citrus TFR as a far stronger pre-wash - applied by spray to the lower half of the car, or heavily soiled areas. Snow foam has its limitations.
Due to the higher performance of this product, it must be rinsed thoroughly with water after application and should never be used on delicate, degraded or sensitive finishes. Dwell time should also be kept to a minimum until you have confidence in the product and it should never be left to dry on the car.
Note that other snow foams on the market may also contain similar caustic cleaning agents as in a bid to improve cleaning performance and masquerade as pH-neutral maintenance snow foams. They're not. Do your research carefully... we firmly believe that Apple iFoam gives you the most cleaning performance for a pH-neutral 'wax-safe' maintenance snow foam. And that iFoam Max is unsurpassed when it comes to caustic TFR snow foam cleaning performance. Cheaper snow foams may certainly be available. But better? We invite you to compare any snow foam with the ones we offer and then decide...
And if you don't have a snow foam lance already, why not grab a nice Dodo Juice snow foam lance and see what all the fuss is about!
